South Florida used to be a place where any house in the sun was snapped up as soon as for sale sign was posted. Investors, retirees and new families alike would be on the front lawn chanting 'we buy houses', hoping to be able to get a piece of famous Florida real estate.

Boy, have times changed. Today a home may have a number of signs on the front lawn telling about all the features and offering to nearly give it away just to move the piece of property that is stuck in a stagnant home market.  Across South Florida the sales of existing homes have dropped almost in half from this time a year ago.  And the price they are getting for those sales are dropping as well.
